Here I have copied Hokusai's  "Wave of Kanawaga" which is one of the most recognizable pieces of art from Ukiyo-e art period of Japan and in the world. This is absolutely one of my favourite paintings. although the scene my seem quite chaotic something about the shade of blues is so calming. I respect Hokusai's painting abilities and attention to detail.

I chose to do this piece because I feel as though it is challenging but could also turn out very nice if I put enough effort in and payed attention to detail. I struggled mapping this piece out as I only finished the weekend before it was due. I love the colour scheme of this painting. It is very simple and muted but effective. In my piece if I could do something over again I would mix the colours again. I feel as though I made the sky a bit more green than beige an the shadows of the waves a bit more teal than grey. This painting style makes me feel at ease. it is very organized but it is still bursting with creativity and originality.
